3. Eli likes to say "I'm playing". "Play a couple minutes?" and "Daddy Rock me?" every night when he goes to bed. He likes trains, stickers, snacks (Popsicles, Cheetos and nutrigrain bars) and blocks/towers. He likes stroller rides, bike rides, going to the park, the library and a tv show called Dinosaur Train (which he dances to).
4. My poor husband is in the kitchen making me a chocolate gluten free birthday cake. He hasn't been feeling good all day, so I got out the ingredients for the cake. I thought I would make it. He said no, he would make it. I just want to eat it (maybe a pregnant craving) and teach Eli how to celebrate birthdays for other people than himself. Have you ever made your own birthday treat?
5. Today on a Target run I walked past the doctor who ordered my bloodwork for Celiac disease and also reported the news that it was likely I would actually be diagnosed. I don't think she saw me, but I know she would remember e because I worked in the hospital with her, so we knew each other. I wonder if she had seen me in Target what she would have thought. Would she have thought-wow her life must have changed?
6. We've got a farmer on our hands. No shirt. Overall bibs. and Corn on the cob.
And here he is enjoying the biggest cupcake I've ever seen.
7. It's the 10th anniversary of September 11th. Like everyone else, I can remember where I was when I found out what was going on. However, I was naive, or innocent, or more so- unworldly. I just really didn't know what the Twin Towers were. It was the eve of my 21st birthday and my roomies were throwing me a party. The party went on-and people came. Looking back now-I can't believe it. I remember one gal from my soccer team wore a black tank top with a silver New York Skyline across the front. I didn't get it that first day/night. We were all extremely selfish. But my my roommates and I recovered and sat on the couch every chance we could, watching the 24 hour news. Each yearly anniversary of 9/11 I see new stories, tributes, details, devastating details. I can't imagine. I have the greatest respect for everyone who were directly and indirectly involved. I also have sincere sympathy for all people who helped, survived and didn't survive as well as their family and friends. I think it's important to remember and pay tribute. I feel like so many people have the right thing to say, and I know I don't. I struggle with even just talking to Andy about my feelings without being choked up. Like my sister wrote in her blog: Pause, breathe, remember.
8. We spent a gorgeous day at the lake last weekend. It was cooler out-a fall-ish feeling. The waves were huge. Pictures just don't do it justice. But I snapped away. It was amazing. A-mazing.
9. The baby in my tummy is over 5 inches long and the size of a turnip (according to Babycenter.com)
10. One of my favorite pictures of the summer:
11. We also did our first "bouncy park". Eli was in his glory. I think Andy and I had some fun too.
| Haha, this picture makes me laugh. I made Andy go in/on a lot of the slides with Eli and here the boys are-bouncing away. |
Have a good week. Remember-to remember.
