Next week at this time.....our family of 3 will be leaving Bonson's-the famous Pick'N Save that we shop at Up North prior to pulling into the long, gravel drive way to my favorite place on Earth. Our small family of 3 will turn into a big, mixed-aged family from baby Sydney to Grandma Barb.
The excitement is brewing. Eli knows (as much as he can know) he is soon going to the Cottage.
The plans are in motion. The e-mails are flying back and forth. Lists are being made. Fights between Andy and I are stewing about how much to bring and how to pack the car.
All of these things are just part of the trip. Part of the build up.
But before we can get there-we have to work 5 more days. We have to wish my sister a happy birthday and her and Ed a happy anniversary. we have to get our acts together packing and squeezing and closing up the house. We have to survive a long car ride. And then the first few hours are always a little crazy as the kids just want to do it all, the mom's want to unpack and get settled and the dad's don't know what to do. Cracking a cold beer is what Grandma Barb will do. We'll figure out sleeping arrangements and unpack the coolers.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Yes! You tell it like it is! A bonus is always that little time spent on one of the benches on the dock, thinking and chatting, in between the unpacking and sharing of hopes for the week.
