Who remembers this from their childhood?
Criss Cross
Applesauce
Spiders crawling up your back
Tight squeeze
Cool Breeze
Now you've got the shiveries!!!!
Below is a video of my two cute nephews doing this to their mom (my sister!). So cute.
Watch all the way to the end-my favorite part is when Henry tries to do the last line!!!!! (oh and turn up the volume)

The Waiting Game
I'm so excited...and anxious!
I can't wait for this baby to come!
I feel like I'm more ready for this baby than I was for Eli to arrive-although I know that's not true---enough time has passed that I can't remember this anticipation!
Oh-No I'm not pregnant! One of my closest friends is having her 2nd baby SOON. Any day now. Any time. Any hour. Any minute. I can't leave my phone......if I'm going to leave it for 15 minutes I tell her where I'm going and to hold that baby in until I get back to my post: my phone.
We call this baby "Thing 2" -Dr. Seuss style. Nobody knows if it's a girl or a boy (I'm guessing a girl). She'll have an amazing big sister and a few boy cousins and multiple fun friends waiting for him/her to grow up and play. She/he's got a set of motivated, caring, responsible and fun parents. The worst part is we're still quite a few days out from his/her due date! Good luck PW! Don't worry-that frozen turkey will be here soon :)

April 15th!
Mark the date!
Today Eli took another STEP towards manhood! He did this all by himself. I don't have any sound on it because I'm talking on the phone in the background with a friend and don't want to share the conversation with everyone. Which just goes to show you-it was totally unexpected.
GO ELI!

Dear Elijah,
Today we spent the day together.
Days like this make me want to be home with you every single day even more than I already did.
You laughed SO much today. I will definitely fall asleep hearing your giggle. LOVE IT! You make my day when you giggle.
We visited Dad at work today too and you hammed it up. You made so many people smile today. I watched you brighten up those lady's eyes!
You jumped, rocked, crawled, bumped, bounced, rode, slept, climbed etc etc etc. And I loved interacting with you all day. I only took 1 picture of you in action and tried to get a shot of your sausage feet stuffed into your booties.
When Dad got home you continued with your giggles and open mouth smiles. I caught it on camera. Here's hoping we spend many more days like this together.
Love,
Mom

Grace in the Small Things # 9-Random
Ahhh the weekend is coming to a close. Time to reflect as my sister would say.
Today I had to work for 4 hours and I got my duties taken care of from 8-noon.
Andy was on Elijah duty. When I was leaving work I called to see what they were up to. They were out and about running errands (Small thing #1!).
I asked if I could stop at the store to buy my book club book that has over 200 holds on it at the library. I had a gift card for the book store (Small thing #2). Andy said sure-they were taking care of some errands. I listened to his voice. No frustration, no annoyance-how WONDERFUL. How did I luck out to have a husband who doesn't mind spending his Sunday morning running errands with our little man?!
On the way to the book store I looked up at the blue sky and saw an airplane (simple thing #3). Driving through the city on the highway is always fun for me. I feel like such a grown up. But when I see an airplane I always get jealous-wondering who is on the plane. Where are they going? Where had they been? Where and when can I go?! But today I just appreciated the weather, the city traffic/drive and my 30 minutes of freedom.
As Andy and I prepare for our first trip out of town (our first over-night) without the E-bug-I look to everyone for advice on how to cope with our first big departure. Any ideas? We are taking off to Arizona for a 3 day weekend as Andy will be a groomsman in one of his childhood friends wedding (small thing #4). I will be a nervous nellie but have bought myself a new dress and since I will not know a single other soul at this wedding-I vow to talk to people, smile extra and make conversation. But...that won't stop me from texting my mom to find out just how little Eli is.
We're working hard on getting Eli to fatten up a tad. We are looking for ideas of healthy fats, healthy high calorie options for a 9month old! Any ideas anyone? My sister gave me a book for Easter that has a lot of great ideas (Small thing #5) but anyone else have any brainstorm ideas? I know that I'm a dietitian-but when it comes to family-it's hard to keep focus.
Today I felt really happy (Small thing #6). Deep down I'm always very happy-I have a great life. But today I left behind all my worry, anxiety, fears, frustrations, responsibilities...etc and just let myself enjoy that blue sky, the drive with the radio on, all of Eli's smiles. Typically I worry 23 of the 24 hours of the day (yes even when I sleep) and it's really hard for me to let go of that. It just is. So far nobody has been able to really give me suggestions that WORK to help me relax and let go of it all. Today it didn't take a lot of effort.
I just did it.
It was a moment.
I realized what a miracle Eli was.
I thought about how easy Andy and my marriage has been.
I thought about the job security I have in a big, famous and exciting hospital.
I pondered our 3 day vacation coming up.
I planned Eli's 1st birthday party in my head.
I totally splurged on a book.
I smiled thinking about Baby A and how her mom is doing during these first few days home with a newborn.
I let myself get excited for the baby consignment extravaganza I will go to this week.
I didn't feel guilty when I took a nap.
I said "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" loudly while I pushed Eli in the swing and even made conversation when this got the neighbors attention.
I worked out for the first time since Elijah was born and am proud of myself for that.
and now I'm blogging.
Tomorrow is Monday....Deep breath....... and like the title of my blog: moving on.
